People remember things that come first and last more clearly
Research:
In a study to determine how much list order can impact consumer’s clicks. They did this by place a 4 row by 2 column list of items and measured which item received the most clicks.
The very first item in the top left corner got the most clicks, at 9.2%, consistent with research done on primary effects. But the last item in the list, on the bottom right corner, got the second most clicks at 7.7%. This is why it’s important to place your most important information at the top or bottom of a list.
