Information bias has been demonstrated in an experiment that gave subjects a diagnostic problem with fictional symptoms, tests, and diseases. They were given sufficient data to solve the task from the beginning, but the majority of participants decided they needed to continue gathering more information and carrying out additional tests to make a diagnosis.
